Pharmapedia: Journal of Community Health Service is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. This statement is based on the principles of transparency, integrity, and academic ethics in accordance with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.
Ethical Guidelines for Journal Publication
The publication of an article in Pharmapedia: Journal of Community Health Service is an essential contribution to the development of a credible and respected scientific network. All parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, reviewers, and publishers, are expected to uphold ethical behavior standards.
Duties of Editors
Publication Decisions
The editor is responsible for deciding which submitted manuscripts should be published based on the manuscript’s validity, originality, significance, and relevance to the journal’s scope.
Fair Play
Editors evaluate manuscripts without discrimination regarding race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.
Confidentiality
Editors and editorial staff must not disclose any information about submitted manuscripts to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, and publisher as appropriate.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used by editors for their own research without the author’s explicit written consent.
Duties of Reviewers
Contribution to Editorial Decisions
Peer reviewers assist editors in making editorial decisions and may also help authors improve the quality of their manuscripts through constructive feedback.
Promptness
Reviewers who feel unqualified to review a manuscript or unable to complete the review promptly should notify the editor and withdraw from the review process.
Confidentiality
Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents and must not be shared or discussed with others except as authorized by the editor.
Standards of Objectivity
Reviews should be conducted objectively, and personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Reviewers should express their views clearly with supporting arguments.
Acknowledgement of Sources
Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors and inform the editor of any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript and other published works.
Disclosure and Conflict of Interest
Reviewers must not use unpublished information disclosed in a manuscript for personal advantage and should avoid reviewing manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest.
Duties of Authors
Reporting Standards
Authors should present accurate and objective accounts of the work performed, supported by sufficient detail and references to allow replication by others.
Data Access and Retention
Authors may be asked to provide the raw data related to their manuscript for editorial review and should be prepared to retain such data for a reasonable time after publication.
Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must ensure that their work is entirely original. Any use of others’ work or words must be appropriately cited or quoted.
Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication
Authors should not submit the same manuscript simultaneously to more than one journal or publish redundant manuscripts describing essentially the same research.
Acknowledgement of Sources
Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be provided.
Authorship of the Manuscript
Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported work.
Hazards and Human Subjects
If the work involves chemicals, procedures, or equipment with unusual hazards, authors must clearly identify them. For studies involving human participants, authors must ensure that the research complies with ethical standards and informed consent requirements.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Authors should disclose any financial or other substantive conflicts of interest that may influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript.
Fundamental Errors in Published Works
When authors discover significant errors or inaccuracies in their published work, they must promptly notify the journal editor and cooperate in correcting or retracting the article.
Ethical Oversight
Pharmapedia: Journal of Community Health Service is committed to preventing publication malpractice, including plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, citation manipulation, and unethical research practices. All submitted manuscripts may be screened using plagiarism detection software before entering the peer review process.
Complaints and Appeals
Authors may submit complaints or appeals regarding editorial decisions, publication ethics, or peer review processes to the editorial office. The journal will handle all complaints fairly, objectively, and transparently in accordance with COPE guidelines.
